- The actress recently wrapped up a stay at an Austrian wellness resort where she rehabbed an ankle injury to prepare for an upcoming movie.
It looks like Elizabeth Hurley may have finally gotten the vacation she’s been longing for. The supermodel, 56, recently shared a smiling snapshot from the beach in which she rocked a blue bikini and posed with some new friends: a couple of giant starfish.
“Found these magnificent starfish, alive but stranded, on the beach,” she captioned the post. “They’re now happily back at the bottom of the sea ❤️❤️❤️❤️ .”
Fans and followers were delighted by the capture, in which Hurley’s turquoise two-piece from her very own swimsuit line was simply accessorized with aviator sunglasses and a delicate charm necklace. “You look amazing,” one person commented. “2 starfish 1 mermaid 😍” another added. “Yay!!!! So sweet,” someone else wrote.
Despite some fans showering her with love, others voiced concerns for the sea creatures. “They are extremely delicate and most likely won’t survive once you take them out of the sea and manipulate them,” one person commented. But, as Hurley explained, she was returning them to their homes—so we hope no starfish were harmed in the making of this photo.
In her recent Instagrams, Hurley admitted that a vacation was long overdue, and frequently shared throwback photos from holidays past. Of course, there’s a possibility that this post is another one of those.
One thing’s for sure, the Runaways star recently checked into VIVAMAYR Maria Wörth, a holistic luxury wellness resort in Austria, to rehab an injured ankle and “detox” in preparation for an upcoming movie. “I tore the ligaments in my left ankle whilst filming in the Caribbean in November. Lying on the sofa for two months, followed by a month of limping around in an air boot, meant that I basically became a slug,” she wrote on February 26. “I don’t weigh myself but my jeans were objecting violently to being done up so something had to be done.”
According to the resort’s website, its ‘personalized health concept’ promises to help visitors “find your way to long-term health and a new quality of life” with the latest medical technologies and modern Mayr medicine.
Hurley shared a few updates from her stay. “Detox, physio, infusions, and footbaths going swimmingly at @vivamayrmariawoerth,” she captioned one post. In another, she proudly modeled a cropped tank and leggings. “Helllooooo from @vivamayrmariawoerth ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote.
Although the ankle injury took a toll on her fitness routine, she admittedly prefers not to keep a structured physical regimen and instead, likes to break a sweat while working around the house. “I don’t really do any set exercise, per se, because I prefer to get my exercise from doing something [other] than being in the gym,” she told Women's Health last year. “Not only do I feel, well, actually exhausted, but also I feel that I’ve got the leaves up, which is also a nice thing ... I’d rather scrub a mirror—it does just as much.”
Since her stay at the resort ended, Hurley hasn’t shared many additional updates. But here’s to hoping that she’s on the mend and ready for her next big project.
